Consecrated Disciple

Consecrated disciples are those who wish to dedicate their entire lives to living and proclaiming the Gospel. Consecrated Missionaries fully commit themselves to the spirituality of the association, living in community and taking private vows of Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience.

The Missionaries of the Real Presence exists for the apostolic renewal of the church. We invite potential laborers to consider their calling and respond, generously in service of the Lord. We form men as disciples to respond to the mission that Christ has called each one of us to.

At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” Mt 9 36-38

Where does your heart break at the sight of the crowds? There are many lost souls without a shepherd and they need your help.

Saint Gregory the great says in a homily on the Gospels, “how full the world is of priests, but in the Lord‘s harvest, a true laborer is rarely to be found”

Oftentimes when people are discerning a vocation, they are looking for a clear sign. A clear sign is not often given. Jesus invites us to follow him. The consecrated disciple walks intention with discerners and helps them to see the way of Christ.

Will you go out from the comforts of life leaving the ninety nine for the one lost sheep?
We are the ones sent out to gather all people to the great feast mentioned in Luke’s Gospel 14:15-24
We go out to the streets but also anywhere that people may gather to invite to the feast all people.
Many people in the church have been invited but do not answer the call. Others need to come into the great feast that God has prepared for all His people. Will you invite them?

“Communion leads to mission and mission itself to communion” - Christe Fidelis Laici, 31
Many are in communion but lose sight of the mission of the church and their purpose and fall away or begin to coast. Others are not in communion and labor with no real fruits.
Communion and mission go together to build the kingdom of God and bear abundant fruit.
We are constantly refreshed with our life of prayer and remain close to the church through the sacraments, Liturgy of the hours, Holy Hours, etc.

Everyone who has undergone conversion can see something of a call or an area the Lord has asked them to be a labor in and they need other Catholics to accompany them on this journey of faith and help them be formed as disciples. Many do not see it as a possibility to live for God entirely. The street disciple house provides a space that men with a call can begin to see that it is possible to live for God alone. It is a space that isn’t as formal as seminary or religious life, but where men can explore a call and receive formation for the apostolic renewal of the church. Our call is rooted in baptism, but we often need to be interrupted by Christ as we go down the wrong path to be brought back. Our vocation stories and our missionary work can be seen as a participation in Christ work of breaking into the world to disrupt our previous ways so we may follow “the way” to eternal life. Jesus finds us wandering off track and calls us back such as in the road to Emmaus Lk24, I’m going fishing Jn 24, doubting Thomas Jn 20. The resurrection experience is one of people going back to old ways and being met by Christ who reveals that in every cross, his resurrection can be made present. There is a way forward!
We participate in Evangelization on the way, coming to the Person, the incarnation, Christ does not wait for us to be so far lost, but comes to meet us and call us another way, to himself, the way, the truth, and the life Jn 14

The consecrated disciples will go through formation to prepare them to lead others in the faith and be sent on mission to establish discipleship houses  in other cities as we grow.
